Church history tour
Follow in the footsteps of the church fathers. Augustine, Tertullian and Cyprian all worked in North Africa. Maybe you've heard about the church council in Carthage? That's here in Tunisia.

"Church history in North Africa?" you might be thinking, "that can't be right?". Yes, it does. The Roman Empire extended across the entire Mediterranean, including northern Africa - known as Proconsularis Africanus and Numidia, modernday Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt.
The very first destination that everyone should take note of is Carthage!
The ancient city of Carthage
Carthage was once a city of great importance to the Roman Empire, and several of the early church councils were held here, and the canonization of today's Bible was also done here.
It is recommended to have a whole day set aside to wander through the archaeological finds.
"Thysdrys" today's El Jem
In the middle of today's El Jem, we find a magnificent amphitheater, the 3rd largest in the world with space for about 32,000 spectators.
The city also houses a reconstruction of the "villa Africanus" right next to a museum full of beautiful and detailed mosaics.
Dougga
Unlike other Roman cities, Dougga is located on a hill.
In a unique way, you get a different kind of overview of what it was like to live as a Christian in the early 200s, you can imagine how many other temples were built in the same city.
